In retaliation, China has implemented its own 34% reciprocal tariffs and begun banning exports of certain heavy rare earths, like samarium and gadolinium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is a major escalation. While NdPr hasn't been hit \u2014 yet \u2014 the big nuclear elephant on crack in the room is this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Will China put export controls or a ban on NdPr?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If that happens, it could trigger an industrial panic in Western supply chains. NdPr is critical to EV motors, defense tech, and wind turbines. Losing access would spark stockpiling, price spikes, and possibly even emergency U.S. action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Where Does This End?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>There\u2019s no easy off-ramp. Trump won\u2019t back down, especially in an election year.
